The one where Michael gets his new #iphone4

So woke up this morning @ the regular time: 6:45A, because it was new Apple iPhone 4 release day.  Took a shower.  Apple peeps should be glad I took a shower.  Normally, since I work from home, I don't take one until my 2nd break of the day.

Made it to the Apple store at North Star Mall @ 7:45A.  I parked in the back by the old Mervyn's and didn't realize I was at the wrong entrance until I walked in the mall.  So I trudged through the hoards of mall-walkers; around through that crazy bend in the middle of the mall; through the food court and finally to the other side of the mall where the Apple store is located.

There was a gaggle of people in line already so I asked the security guard which line was for those who had reserved their iPhones?  He pointed to the shorter line which had about 30 peeps in it.

The other line, for those who had not pre-reserved, had about 200 peeps in line.

Props to Apple for providing the queue with free breakfast tacos.

So I made it to the front of the queue and asked the guy at the front of the other line how long he had been in line?  He said since 10P last night.  Wowza.  I had only been in line for like 30 minutes and was already moments away from my new toy.

Somewhere along the way I noticed peeps were cheering and clapping whenever it was someone's turn to go into the store for their purchase.  But then I realized the truth to what was going on with those cheers. They were cheering for peeps from the non-reserved line and booing and hissing for those in the reserved line.

Beardo -er- Blake, from the Apple Store came to escort me into the apple store as it was now my turn to be booed and hissed. Everything went very smoothly although he tried a little too hard to sell me a new dock. I didn't budge although I got the bumper.  They only had black.

When I left the store the queues had grown a bunch.  About 500 in non-reserved line and 100 in reserved line.  Crazy. I hear it was even more crazy at the cool Apple store at La Cantera.

So I get back home and sync my new phone.  Past experiences with new iPhones has shown me that it can take hours for this process.  This time was different.  I was done with everything in just 15 minutes.  (((Smooth))) First pix from new phone and I swear it makes me look all kind of slim and shiny whitey smiley too.  LOL.

The new Retina display is crystal clear and that's good for someone like me who has had a detached retina.

It's all squared off now.  Seems heavier too even though it is slimmer.

Uh oh.  The back is now glass too. More fingerprints dammit.

Sold my old iPhone 3G S already for $200.  That seems to be the going rate.

Took some HD video of Bluto and edited with the new iMovie app. Super Da Easy and fun.

So new toys from Apple are always a blast.  Next version better have a jet pack. Oh?  There's an app for that? LOL.
