Breakfast in Southtown. I had never been to
this San Antonio mainstay mainly because every time I try to go, there is a line down the block, of peeps trying to get into the joint. Today was different and I even found parking in their own parking lot.
I had the
Reggies Weekend Special: 2 Eggs (any style) Papas con Chile, Barbacoa, Refried Beans and small quesadillas. There was enough food on my plate to feed a small army but this Army of One devoured it all. The Barbacoa was a bit dry but at least it wasn't greasy like it is at most places. The papas had some type of chile sauce mixed in them and it was pretty good and flavorful. The quesadillas were pretty good too. The cheese was gooey w/out being spongey. The homemade flour tortillas were fresh and hot. Of course it wouldn't be Puro San Antonio w/out a big glass of Big Red.

PS: Went across the street to Bubblehead for my bubble tea fix. I forgot to take a picture.
PPS: After Bubblehead went across the street from that place to AAA Salvage. The visit there was inspired by this blog and I found it in the first place by visiting this place. It was a Reclaimed Freight Center that only had food. I was not impressed although it was full of frugal shoppers.
