REVIEW: Koreana

So I've been on a lo-carb kick this entire week and have been very, very good. Went to my fave Korean restaurant for lunch to get some bulgogi which would satisfy that lo-carb need.  Saw someone eating this meal and knew that was what I would have to try.

Yuk Gae Jang was what I had for lunch. Spicy soup with shredded beef and scallions. Many other things were loaded into this dish and unlike a pho soup, there were very few noodles. This thing was stove hot and spicy hot.  Packed full of ingredients it was easier to eat my soup with chop sticks than with their puny little spoon.  Doesn't matter, because when I devoured the meat and vegetables I drank the broth from the giant bowl like I was drinking from a cup.

S had the chicken bulgogi so I got to help out in eating all those little vegetables they bring out with your meal. I heart kimchee.

Since we mostly make it here for lunch but had just missed their lunch specials, I guess the cinnamon punch is their usual after dinner complimentary drink.  It was very good, sweet and perfect for clearing the palate of all that spicy food.

4 Stars out of 5

PS:  I always get a headache after eating Korean food.  MSG I guess?
