RECIPE: I Did It All For The Cookie
I always pretend to partake in the challenges and think outloud: I can do better than that. Tonight I actually met the challenge.
The Quick Fire Challenge was making a cookie for Cookie Monster of Sesame Street fame.
Elmo was there as well as some other muppet unknown to me.I have made many batches of cookies in my baking quest but I have always followed a recipe. Composing a recipe off the top of my head was going to be difficult. I think I did pretty well.
Cookie Monster wanted chocolate chip cookies so that is what I prepared.
************************************************
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 sticks of unsalted butter
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag (12 oz) of semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies
Combine dry ingredients.
Combine wet ingredients until smooth.
Combine both wet and dry ingredients until well combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by large teaspoons onto cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Let cool.
Enjoy.
Makes about 5 dozen.

PS: I ended up having to add about another 1/4 of flour to my mixture so that I would have cookie dropping consistency.
PPS: Not bad for off the top of my head.
PPPS: Maybe next time only 1/2 teaspoon of Kosher salt. Just a tad salty.
