LET THE #SQUAREFOOTGARDEN BEGIN
Last year, for instance, I was able to take a nice bite out of my grocery bills by growing my own produce.
Living in South Texas is a bonus. The growing season here is so long that we can almost have a garden year round.
So I ended up at the hardware store looking for organic seeds. Last year I went cheap and purchased my seeds from the big box retailer made in China place. I had a lot of no show-ers; no grow-ers. I intend to be more successful this year.
Found the seeds I wanted and now I plan the layout of my three square foot gardens. I have 36 square feet of gardening space total.
For the past month I have been purchasing the soil, 3 big bags at a time, in order to spread the cost of that purchase out to a reasonable amount.
Next week I will get busy and decide if I want to add more boxes to my layout as I will have more space once I cut down an old, dying tree.
It's time to start planning your OWN garden. Let's do it together.
