BEFORE & AFTER: the Ash Tree goes under the knife.

Most peeps in San Antonio have terrible allergies to the Mountain Cedar, mine is to the horrible Arizona Ash.  When the culprit is damn smack in your front yard all one can do is hide-away for six weeks or so while the pollen is released. Most years I want to chop that damn Ash tree to the ground but it provides a great canopy for the front lawn.

The every other year ritual of trimming this tree was soon upon us.  I thought this year if it was trimmed before the release of pollen that I might stunt that release of pollen.  We shall see.

We always use the H.O.W. Foundation Tree Trimming service.  They were established to create an environment where those recovering from alcohol and drug addiction could become self-supporting, productive members of society by providing needed services to the community. I used to be a substance abuse counselor so I am always eager to support worthy causes such as this one.

The gentlemen doing the job today were polite and professional.  They always do a good job.

The Chow Chows of course have to see everything that's going on.  Bossanova was already super hyper as we live in a neighborhood with many crazy cat ladies and many crazy cats too. She awoke to a cat in her backyard and actually got a hold of the critter twice before she was separated from her nemesis.  The way I see it, if you are stupid enough to venture into the Chow Chow's yard, you are fair game for torture or breakfast.

So, the tree is trimmed and cropped for another two years but all I know is that means two more seasons of Ash allergy season for me.
